What are the causes of chalazion in children?

Chalazion, also known as a chalazion cyst, is a chronic inflammatory granuloma of the lid gland caused by obstruction of the outlet of the lid gland and retention of secretions, mostly in children and adolescents. Children are very susceptible to chalazion. On the one hand, children are prone to bacterial infections because of their poor lifestyle habits, such as low water intake and partial diet, and because they are active by nature and often rub their eyes with dirty hands, while on the other hand, young children have a fast metabolism and poor immune system, which makes them less resistant to infections and easier to catch fire. So parents pay attention to their children’s hygiene, but also find ways to increase nutrition for children. But some parents wonder: “Why is it that despite all these efforts, the child still grows a scattered granuloma?” According to the study, this has something to do with the child’s diet structure. Therefore, for children with frequent chalazion, parents must pay attention to adjusting the child’s diet structure, give children to eat more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, and try to avoid giving children fried food and puffed food. Nowadays, children are exposed to computers, cell phones and other electronic products too early, and their eyes are more prone to fatigue and poor secretion of oil and grease from the eye glands, while children have a poor sense of hygiene and cleanliness and rub their eyes with their hands, which can easily lead to bacterial infection. How to treat chalazion? The initial stage of chalazion can be treated with hot compresses. Parents should be reminded that children with chalazion should pay attention to the fact that hot compresses can be applied 3 to 4 times a day to promote pus formation before the pus head is formed, and light inflammation can disappear completely after hot compresses. But once the pus head appears, you should promptly take your child to the hospital to cut open and drain the pus, do not wait until it breaks down on its own, so as to reduce the pain of the sick child to shorten the course of treatment. Special attention should be paid to the pus head, but when it appears, do not squeeze it again with your hands, and do not rub the eye with dirty hands, so as not to bring bacteria into the eye and cause infection, or even serious complications. In daily life, parents must do a good job of configuring their children’s diet, because the health of the child is the top priority of the family.
