The novel coronavirus belongs to the β genus of novel coronaviruses, which has been included in category B infectious diseases and taken the preventive and control measures of category A infectious diseases. The main source of infection seen so far is pneumonia patients infected with novel coronavirus, and the population is generally susceptible. Older people and those with underlying diseases are more severely affected by the infection, and children and infants also develop the disease. Based on current epidemiological investigations, the incubation period is generally 3-7 days, with a maximum of 14 days. The main manifestations are fever, malaise and dry cough. A small number of patients have symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose and diarrhea. Severe cases tend to develop respiratory distress after one week.
