What happens when nephritis is not treated

If nephritis is not actively treated, the worst case is the occurrence of chronic renal insufficiency, which may lead to uremia and the need for kidney transplantation or dialysis treatment. There are three kinds of regression for patients with nephritis: i. Some patients with nephritis can gradually improve even without applying medication. This is common for relatively mild nephritis, such as urine protein quantification below 1.0 gram and normal kidney function or only slight hematuria. Second, most nephritis without active treatment, the kidney function will slowly deteriorate and gradually progress to uremia within decades. Third, some nephritis pathology is more serious, even after active treatment, it will progress to uremia within a very short period of time. At present, the second condition is mainly controlled by medication. After active and symptomatic medication, the second condition may be completely cured or its progression to uremic syndrome may be delayed.
