How long can you live with chronic hepatitis?

There is no specific survival time for how long a patient with chronic hepatitis can live, and it is related to the type of hepatitis the patient has. The types of chronic hepatitis in China are mainly common in hepatitis B and hepatitis C. They are progressive diseases, which can progress from chronic hepatitis to cirrhosis and liver cancer if not treated with intervention, seriously affecting the survival period. For hepatitis B virus infection, patients need early and effective antiviral treatment, long-term oral nucleoside antiviral drugs to control hepatitis B virus replication, as well as liver-protective and hepatoprotective drug therapy to reduce liver damage, so that the disease can be stabilized and slow down disease progression. However, for hepatitis C, the current use of new oral antiviral drugs can be completely cured in a short period of time without affecting the normal survival period. Patients with chronic hepatitis should eat a light diet, eat more fruits and vitamin-rich foods, abstain from alcohol, engage in appropriate activities, avoid taking liver-damaging drugs, and regularly review liver function, ultrasound, and changes in hepatitis serology indicators.
