Do you know about headaches?

Headache is the most common disorder and a common symptom of many diseases. Headaches are divided into primary and secondary headaches. Primary headaches are spontaneous disorders that are mostly dysfunctional without structural damage. Secondary headache is a symptom manifested by local organic damage or systemic diseases, such as infections, intracranial tumors, cerebrovascular diseases, etc. 1. The exact cause of migraine is not clear, but it is mostly thought to be vascular and central nervous system dysfunction, and genetic factors also play an important role. It is more common in females than males, with episodes of multiple symptoms occurring simultaneously, often confined to the frontal, temporal and occipital areas, and may also radiate to the neck and shoulders. The pain starts as a fluctuating sharp pain or severe headache and then may turn into a persistent dull pain. Migraine with aura may be preceded by aura symptoms such as visual field loss, somatic weakness, eye paralysis, facial paralysis, vertigo, sweating, nausea and vomiting, and increased heart rate. Tension headache is a feeling of pressure, heaviness and tightness in the head caused by continuous contraction of the neck and head and facial muscles. It is more common in young people, with a significantly higher incidence in women than in men, and there is no obvious family history. It is often persistent throughout the day or perennial pain. 3. Cluster headache and other neuroautonomic headaches Cluster headache is often fixed on one side of the head. It is confined to the back of the eye and becomes explosive pain during the attack. Once an attack occurs, it usually lasts for 2 weeks to 3 months. The headache is severe, with a burning or pins-and-needles type of sharp pain. The patient is irritable, restless, and the pain is unbearable. The duration of each attack is short and the most intense is 10-15 minutes, but can last for several hours and 15-180 minutes, often with significant autonomic symptoms. Avoid fatigue and mental stress during the general treatment of the attack regardless of the type of headache. Pay attention to rest. Give mental comfort. Avoid stimulation by photoelectricity. Remove triggers, such as tobacco, alcohol, and food that cause headache. 4.Nerve block Stellate ganglion block has good effect on all kinds of headache. Combined with drug treatment, it can achieve good effect and cure rate. All kinds of headaches should be treated in the pain clinic of regular hospitals to exclude organic diseases and to carry out medication under the guidance of physicians. Other treatments such as massage and light therapy have certain effects.
