Is bloodletting effective for thyroid nodules?

There is no therapeutic effect of bloodletting on thyroid nodules, nor is there any scientific basis, or experiments, that can demonstrate any correlation between the treatment of thyroid nodules and bloodletting. A thyroid nodule is a separate lesion within the thyroid gland. The lesion can be palpated or the structural tissue found here under ultrasonography and is clearly distinguishable from the surrounding normal glandular tissue. Nodules that are asymptomatic, do not produce pressure, and are not growing can be completely untreated. Instead, there are many treatment options, such as radiofrequency ablation, or surgery. The thyroid gland itself has a very rich blood supply and once there is damage or surgical removal, great care needs to be taken to ligate the arteries and veins that feed the thyroid gland. Bleeding can easily cause hemorrhagic shock or the formation of a large hematoma, which can cause difficulty breathing due to compression. Do not trust prescriptions that bleed the thyroid gland in the neck, which can easily cause life-threatening injuries.
