Indications and Contraindications for Artificial Insemination

1.What are the indications and contraindications for artificial insemination by donor insemination (AID)? A. Indications for AID (1) irreversible azoospermia, severe oligozoospermia, hypospermia and teratospermia; (2) failure of vasectomy; (3) ejaculation disorders; (4) Indications (1) (2) (3), except for irreversible azoospermia, the medical staff must explain clearly to the patient who needs to perform artificial insemination by sperm donor, and who may have their own offspring through intracytoplasmic single sperm microinjection. If the patient insists on renouncing the right to conceive by intracytoplasmic microinjection, he/she must sign an informed consent before conception by donor insemination; (5) serious hereditary diseases in the male partner and/or family that are unsuitable for fertility; (6) maternal and child blood group incompatibility that does not result in a viable newborn. Contraindications: (1) The female partner suffers from acute genitourinary infection or sexually transmitted diseases; (2) The female partner suffers from serious genetic, physical or mental diseases; (3) The female partner is exposed to teratogenic rays, poisons, drugs and is in the period of action; (4) The female partner has drug addiction and other bad habits. 2.What are the indications and contraindications of artificial insemination by husband (AIH)? Indications: (1) male infertility due to oligospermia, weak sperm, liquefaction abnormalities, sexual dysfunction, genital malformations, etc.; (2) cervical factor infertility; (3) reproductive tract abnormalities and psychological factors leading to infertility such as sexual intercourse; (4) immune infertility; (5) unexplained infertility. Contraindications: (1) acute genitourinary infections or sexually transmitted diseases in either sex; (2) serious genetic, physical or psychosomatic disorders in either sex; (3) exposure to teratogenic rays, poisons, drugs in one of the parties and during the period of action; serious addictions such as drug addiction in one of the parties.
