HPV is not syphilis. HPV is a human papillomavirus, and it has been shown that persistent infection of the cervix with high-risk HPV can cause cervical lesions and is associated with the development of cervical cancer. HPV is associated with the development of cervical cancer, but it does not mean that cervical cancer will occur immediately once HPV infection occurs. 70%-80% of women are likely to be infected with HPV during their lifetime, but most women can clear it through their own immune system. Syphilis is a chronic systemic infection caused by the paleomicrobial spirochete. It is a sexually transmitted disease, which usually leads to hard chancre on the genitalia such as vulva and vagina, or damage to the skin and mucous membranes all over the body, and in advanced stages, it may invade the cardiovascular and nervous systems, and may even endanger the life of women.
