Patient Question: Disease: Herpes simplex virus type 2 confirmed question. Description of the disease: pre-pregnancy test found herpes type 2, no symptoms no high risk, current husband free of herpes virus, I had a boyfriend five years ago. The first test results were positive for type 1 2 igm, positive for type 1 igg and negative for type 2 igg, weakly positive for type 2 igm and negative for type 2 igg, and negative for type 2 igm (critical) and negative for type 2 igg for the third time. Several tests were performed using Trinity reagent which has the highest accuracy rate in China. I would like to ask the doctor if there is a possibility of false positives due to type 1 cross-reactivity? If I am negative for both igm and igg can herpes virus infection be ruled out?
