Depression may be an important emotion

We may have many interpretations of human emotions, what is emotion? How to define it, what are good emotions and bad emotions, is a pleasant emotion good? Is it bad to be depressed? Why? Many books on mental health and emotion regulation see maintaining a good mood as the key to good health, is this really the case? Is it really true that a happy state of mind and a stimulating emotion can really be retained? What is emotion, just as the flow of blood is the muscle sustaining vitality, the natural flow of emotion is the vitality of the spirit, and a person without emotion is dead. Psychology should worry not about people who have strong emotions, who cry and laugh, but about people who lack emotions or have difficulty expressing emotions, which we have a description of as “narrative disorder. Emotions should not be categorized in a culturally defined positive or negative way, which tends to give the misconception that there are good and bad emotions. We should realize that emotions are a form of energy that drives the human consciousness, the mind, and the spiritual world to maintain clarity and awareness. People without emotions are numb to others, to the world. People with low emotional energy also have a low capacity for love, and correspondingly low preferences, desires, adventurousness, exploratory mind, and creativity. The human emotional archetype should be seen as a life force that hides behind physiological mechanisms. Science can explain human neurological activity, but not human free decision making, pursuits, beliefs, likes, religious complexes and similar things. In a specific kind of trauma, such as a vegetative person, there is no consciousness, no mental activity, and no more emotions. So why can’t we see human emotions, or even animal emotions, as a product of spiritual activity! Emotions are repressed as a result of alternate reactions between culture and reality, an unnatural state of emotions, and repression is the only thing that has the power to harm the human mind and body. But repressed emotions can instead become the creative force of life if they are not exported with psychological disorders, psychosomatic diseases, schizophrenia and antisociality, aggression, alcoholism, gambling, drug addiction, etc. People who have not experienced deep depression, frustration and loss cannot be great teachers, creators, artists and geniuses either. On the other hand, the emotion of depression is supposed to be natural, it is consubstantial with excitement, and when depression is revealed, excitement and pleasure are already stirring under its cloak, and the rejection of depression can block the hidden sprout of pleasure. We see depression as a worst experience, then it is nailed to the shame rack, and excessive attention to it results in our inner emotional energy being disillusioned with it. A person labeled as depressed will unconsciously hide his happiness, and only in dreams will the happy experience be more visible, which is why happy people tend to have sad dreams and depressed people often have happy dreams. Suicide by depression is not caused by depression, but is caused by our failure to accept depression, or by suffering too much denial, rejection, or suppression from others at the same time. On the contrary, people who do not have the ability to be depressed emotionally are the ones who need help instead. The reason why some people die of overwork is because of excessive mental (emotional) energy depletion. Depression is also a sign that one is powerless, wants to take a break, give up rights, responsibilities, pursuits or demands, and get by. A depressed person is like a baby that needs someone else to take care of it. If life is explained in terms of energy, then the candle of life is lit too brightly and the life force is excessively depleted. Depression dims the candle of life so that life can bear the shadows and slowly spread its beautiful wings that may fly farther and higher. This is why great, extraordinarily creative, genius people have bipolar emotional traits of bipolar disorder. In times of excitement and restlessness, their spirit and energy create the world, and in times of creative exhaustion, depression comes to help them lurk and not have their lives depleted for no reason. We often see those outstanding people, who are focused by the media and wrapped up in social engagements, become mediocre and dull in a pleasant life, because only latent and repressed emotions are the hotbeds of creativity. Relatively speaking, it is the emotion of pleasure that requires vigilance. Pleasure is a very energy-consuming process, and pleasure tends to cause human fatigue and even endangers the human heart. The law of beneficial emotions is not to let pleasure come so fast, so often, so long, laughing is to add wrinkles, wrinkles symbolize aging. Keep a low level of pleasure, a state of mind similar to peace, so that there is no emotional capacity for overexertion and no depressive state of mind to visit.
