How long does it take to take medication for a duodenal ulcer?

Duodenal ulcers take about 4-6 weeks of conservative treatment with medication. Patients with duodenal ulcers should do a carbon 14 breath test, and if H. pylori infection is considered, anti-H. pylori drugs may be added, including clindamycin metronidazole or the application of omeprazole and other drugs. For duodenal ulcers after 4 or 8 weeks of adequate treatment with common medications, regular duodenoscopy or gastroscopy should also be performed periodically to see if the ulcer is completely cured or healed. Regular medical checkups and routine examinations should also be performed every year, and drug therapy or surgical treatment programs should be applied promptly when the corresponding symptoms appear in order to effectively and completely cure duodenal ulcers and prevent their recurrence.
