Is it safe to have a TRUST titer of only 1:1 for syphilis in pregnancy?

You should know that it takes a long time for the TRUST (or RPR) indicator to turn negative after having syphilis. A significant number of people, whether they are treated or untreated, after a period of time, the TRUST indicator will remain at a low titer for a long time, for example, 1:1 or 1:2, and will not decrease, even if it does not turn negative for life, a condition known medically as “serum fixation”, even if repeatedly treated, it will not turn negative. This condition is medically called “serum fixation” and even after repeated treatments, it cannot be converted to negative. Therefore, some people may think that if the TRUST is 1:1, it will be fine. One of our patients today was found to have a 1:1 TRUST indicator for syphilis during her pregnancy and was told by her local doctor that she was fine, so she did not take it seriously. It was only when the fetus was abnormally developed and delivered prematurely at more than 30 weeks of gestation, and could not survive after delivery and died, that she looked for the cause and found that her husband had a TRUST of 1:32, and that she herself had been re-examined and her TRUST had risen to 1:64. If she had been monitored regularly during her pregnancy, it would have been easier to detect the problem in time and not end up with a premature and aborted fetus due to congenital syphilis. Therefore, syphilis should be monitored regularly during pregnancy, which can be recommended once a month. It is also recommended that syphilis in pregnancy be treated promptly if it has not been treated formally before.
