Liver Depression and Yin Deficiency, its symptomatic manifestations can be divided into two parts, one is Liver Depression, such as depression or irritability, distension and pain in the chest and ribs (a collective term for the chest and ribcage area), and the other one is Yin Deficiency, such as dryness and bitterness in the mouth, and Five Distracting Heats (warmth in the heart of the two hands and the heart of the two feet, and self-consciousness of a disturbing heat in the heart and chest), and so on.
1. Liver Depression: Liver Depression refers to the lack of smoothness of liver qi, resulting in pathology in the areas crossed by the liver meridian, such as breast distension and pain during or before menstruation, dysmenorrhea or irregular menstruation, tightness in the chest, frequent sighing, distension and pain in the chest and hypochondrium, and secondly, the patient tends to show poor emotional state, depression or irritability.
2. Yin deficiency: generally refers to Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, with common symptoms such as dry eyes, dry and bitter mouth, heartburn, night sweating (sweating abnormally after going to sleep and stopping after waking up), red tongue with thin fur, and fine pulse (pulse becomes narrow and thin and its rate is accelerated).
Clinically, the pathologies of Liver Depression and Yin Deficiency can be transformed into each other.
