Notes for patients with precocious puberty or dwarfism

  1. Height measurement: Whether the child is short or precocious, it is necessary to measure the height every month after treatment. If you measure at home, you can put a height comparison table on the wall and draw a line on the paper after each measurement. (Note: usually do not measure height too often, generally once a month can be measured, otherwise it is easy to cause psychological pressure on the child, too much psychological pressure, not conducive to growth). 2, balanced diet: a reasonable diet, avoid fatty foods, less sweets, but to ensure the intake of protein, should eat more vegetables and fruits. For children with precocious puberty due to food and diet, do not eat nutritious food and tonic products that may contain sex hormones, and do not use skin care products that contain sex hormones; at the same time, parents should put the drugs at home in a safe place that is out of reach of the children. 3, increase physical activity: especially should strengthen the physical exercise, should ensure more than 30 minutes of exercise time every day. You can choose to jump rope, play basketball, badminton, bouncing or high jumping, swimming and other sports. At first, you can do some activities within your reach, gradually increase the amount and intensity of exercise and persevere, so as not to lose confidence due to excessive fatigue. Exercise of the lower limbs can stimulate the cell division and proliferation of the epiphyseal growth plate of the long bones and promote the growth of height. In addition, sports and exercise to regulate weight, change the body components, increase muscle mass and reduce fat content have a very positive effect. 4, to ensure adequate sleep: every night should ensure at least 8 to 10 hours of high-quality sleep to ensure that sleep before 10 o’clock at night, so that the pituitary gland in the secretion of sufficient amounts of growth hormone before falling asleep, the rapid growth of height has a very important role in promoting. 5, the use of growth hormone depends on the age of the bone: specifically whether a patient can be treated with growth hormone to promote growth, the key is to look at the age of the bone. Whether the epiphysis is closed or not is the most important indicator to decide whether growth hormone can be used. Theoretically speaking, girls with bone age before 14 years old and boys with bone age before 15 years old may still have the opportunity to use growth hormone to increase height, but if the epiphysis is closed and then use growth hormone to increase height is ineffective.
