Emphasis on imaging of the liver

Hepatitis B infected people in China still account for about 7.2% of the total population, along with the improvement of living standards and poor lifestyle, the incidence of fatty liver, alcoholic liver disease and so on is also gradually increasing. Due to some irresponsible advertisements and poor knowledge of liver disease, many patients have many misunderstandings when they visit the clinic, paying attention only to liver function and hepatitis B three-system examination, ignoring HBV-DNA, AFP, liver fibrosis index, protein electrophoresis and liver imaging examination (such as ultrasound and CT). As liver puncture is an invasive examination, it has certain risks and is not easy to be accepted by patients, therefore, the author calls on the majority of patients with liver disease to pay attention to the imaging examination of the liver, with a view to early detection of structural changes in the liver to avoid or minimize the occurrence of some adverse consequences. Liver function should have a correct understanding, it can not completely reflect the actual lesions of the liver, many of its indicators are often affected by a variety of factors, normal liver function does not indicate that the liver is not diseased, especially in the case of hepatitis B infection. As hepatitis B is a slowly progressive disease, there is no effective cure at this stage, and the main purpose of its treatment is to reduce or delay the occurrence of cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma and hepatic decompensation. Antiviral treatment is the key. The majority of patients with hepatitis B must establish the idea of long-term treatment, should not frequently change the treatment of drugs, most of the current liver drugs can not protect the liver, simple liver treatment, from the long-term efficacy of patients with hepatitis B, there is a lack of evidence-based medical evidence. Don’t believe in pseudo-scientific things and one-sided advertisements. Many hepatitis B patients have a “fear” of antiviral treatment, worrying that the virus will mutate and they can’t stop taking the medication, and they even think that they will become addicted, which is totally unnecessary. With the continuous development of medicine, new antiviral drugs continue to appear, these problems will be solved, we can not be “choked”. Delay in the treatment of the disease, resulting in the disease continues to progress and difficult to control, from all aspects are not worth the loss, and will even regret it!
