World Hepatitis Day has just passed, and recently Family Doctor Online Liver Disease Channel conducted a “World Hepatitis Day – Liver Care Survey” to investigate the public’s knowledge of preventing and treating viral hepatitis and their awareness of liver care. The result of the survey shows that nearly ninety-nine percent (98.65%) of the participants have behaviors that are harmful to the liver, including depression and pessimism, anger, exertion and staying up late. Irritable people have a higher chance of liver disease than ordinary people 8 times The survey showed that the most common liver behavior for “often pessimistic or depressed, or often angry”, accounting for 16.17% of the total proportion. Chinese medicine believes that modern people are under great mental stress and work pressure, and are prone to pessimism, depression and anger and other bad emotions, which can harm the liver and lead to liver dysfunction. Especially anger, medical research shows that people who are irritable are eight times more likely to suffer from liver disease than the average person. Therefore, the love of liver care must focus on the regulation of the heart, soothing emotions not only can make the blood and qi and blood circulation to improve, speed up the liver’s metabolism, for hepatitis patients, it helps to alleviate hepatitis activities, slow down the process of liver fibrosis, to prevent cancer, and so on. “Overexertion or staying up late often” becomes the second most undesirable liver injury behavior, accounting for 15.9% of the total proportion. Research has proved that overwork will reduce the body’s resistance, making the body more susceptible to various diseases, including various hepatitis viruses; and long-term late night will cause liver dysfunction. Professor Hou Jinlin, Director of Liver Disease Center and Infectious Disease Department of Southern Hospital and Director of Infectious Disease Division of Chinese Medical Association, pointed out that liver care must pay attention to rest and sleep, and the normal sleep time of adults should be 6~8 hours, during the sleep period, including hepatocytes, all the cells begin to repair themselves and lying down can increase the liver’s blood flow by 40%, so that the liver receives more blood, oxygen and nutrient supply, which is conducive to liver cell repair and regeneration. This is conducive to liver cell repair and regeneration, thus making the liver healthier. Close life contact The chance of hepatitis infection is very small In addition, the survey also showed that the public’s knowledge of hepatitis B prevention and treatment is insufficient. Only 2.70% of netizens know “close living contact transmission” as the way of hepatitis B virus transmission. Prof. Hou Jinlin said that there are five ways of transmission of hepatitis B virus: mother-to-child transmission, medical transmission, blood transfusion, close living contact transmission and sexual transmission. Close life contact transmission” refers to the infection caused by contact with the body fluids of hepatitis B patients due to the existence of skin and mucous membrane breakage in life contact, such as the transmission of hepatitis B virus caused by the behavior of sharing razor and toothbrush in daily life, all of which are close life contact transmission. However, generally speaking, the body fluids of hepatitis B infected patients, such as saliva, sweat, vaginal secretions, semen, breast milk and so on, contain very low levels of hepatitis B virus, and the chances of transmitting it to normal people in daily contact are very small, so there is no need to be overly worried. In this survey, 77% of the respondents said that they would not alienate their friends or relatives with viral hepatitis, which reflects the gradual elimination of social discrimination against viral hepatitis patients.
