I. Initial consultation
The patient, Ms. Zhang, 39 years old, came to the clinic with complaints of distraction and dizziness for 4 days, accompanied by skin rash and constipation, without self-medication. The patient was further questioned and learned that the patient had no previous history of drug allergy and no major diseases. On physical examination, we found that the patient had a light red tongue, yellowish greasy coating, slippery pulse, yellowish leucorrhea, and foul odor, and combined with the patient’s physical signs and clinical symptoms, we diagnosed her with damp-heat in the liver meridian and admitted her to the hospital.
Treatment history
The patient was diagnosed with damp-heat in the liver meridian, which was caused by the accumulation of damp-heat in the liver, and needed to be treated with Chinese medicine and physiotherapy. The patient was then prescribed Gentian Diarrhea Liver Soup, which has the effect of clearing the actual fire in the liver and gallbladder. Taking this medication on time and in the right amount will clear the damp-heat evil in the liver, which will gradually improve the abnormal symptoms such as rash, dizziness and constipation induced by the disease. While the patient is taking the medication, he is also given physiotherapy, i.e. cupping and gua sha, which can invigorate the blood and open the channels, move the qi and relieve pain, thus assisting in the improvement of the disease.
Treatment effect
After taking Chinese medicine and physical therapy, the patient’s physical symptoms were gradually reduced and her mental state slowly recovered. On the 5th day of in-hospital treatment, the patient complained that the symptoms of rash, dizziness, constipation and disturbance had basically disappeared, and no abnormalities such as yellowing under the belt and foul odor were seen during physical examination. Four days after discharge, the patient was re-examined by the doctor and no other abnormalities were seen.
IV. Notes
When I saw that the patient’s disease was well controlled and he was happily discharged from the hospital, I was happy for the patient from the bottom of my heart. At the time of discharge, I advised the patient to clean her vulva well, wear comfortable and soft underwear, eat a light diet, rest regularly, and maintain emotional stability. You should also keep the skin of the rash clean and dry, and not scratch or scratch the affected area at will to avoid breaking the skin and developing secondary infection.
In addition, although the patient has been discharged from the hospital, the disease has not yet been cured, so the medication prescribed for him should be taken according to the course of treatment, which will help the disease heal faster and shorten the course of the disease, and is also beneficial to the patient’s own health.
V. Personal insight
As an important organ, the liver should be taken care of. Bad daily habits or dietary habits can easily involve the liver and lead to secondary diseases. As in the case of the patient in this case, the liver was attacked by the external evil of damp-heat, which induced damp-heat in the liver meridian. After timely treatment with herbal medicines and Chinese physical therapy to clear the actual fire in the liver and gallbladder, the disease was controlled and the impact of the disease on the patient was relatively small.
