Nasal mucosal administration of anti-headache gel

Nasal mucous membrane administration for headache relief is a purely traditional Chinese medicine preparation, mainly used for the treatment of headache. “Chuanxiong Rhizoma Formula, founded by Liu Wansu, a famous physician in the Jin-Yuan era, is a formula in which Chuanxiong Rhizoma can invigorate blood and move Qi, while Tianma can quench wind and relieve pain, and the combination of the two has good therapeutic effects on migraine headaches caused by blood stasis and wind-yang upheaval. This formula is both simple and efficacious. According to the physicochemical properties of each herb in the prescription, the active ingredients can be extracted according to the method of alcohol extraction. After extensive literature search and patent search, the volume fraction of ethanol, the number of times of extraction and the extraction time were used as the conditions of investigation. However, through further in-depth study of the physicochemical properties and pharmacological effects of the prescribed herbs, it was verified by repeated experiments that the number of times of extraction had a significant effect on the extraction rate. In summary, the investigating factors of this experiment were determined, and orthogonal experiments were conducted to investigate and screen out the process conditions with high extraction rate of the index component asparagine. The best extraction process for the nasal mucosal administration of anti-headache gel was preferred. The orthogonal test method was used to screen the best extraction process conditions of nasal mucosal drug delivery anti-headache gel with the content of asparagine as the index. The best extraction process condition for nasal mucosal administration of anti-headache gel was ethanol. The preferred process was stable and feasible, and could significantly increase the content of ferulic acid.
