Chlorpromazine is more effective in schizophrenia and can also be used for symptomatic treatment of symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions and psychomotor excitement. However, it is less effective in the treatment of negative symptoms of psychosis, such as systemic delusions, food refusal and poor mobility, and also tends to cause discomfort such as dry mouth, postural hypotension and sleepiness. It is also less commonly used in clinical practice at present.
