Anti-psychotic drugs, i.e. drugs that address the patient’s symptoms such as behavioural, speech and perceptual disturbances due to abnormalities such as mental disorders. Examples include the antipsychotic drug risperidone, which is mainly used to treat schizophrenia; lithium salts and valproate for bipolar disorder and mania; and fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline venlafaxine, duloxetine, mirtazapine and others for depressive disorders.
