Why are you prone to gallbladder stones if you don’t eat breakfast?

Why is it easy to get gallbladder stones without breakfast? First, let’s understand the causes of gallbladder stone formation. The main component of bile is water, as well as lecithin, cholesterol, sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphate and carbonate, and a small amount of protein. Gallbladder stones are formed in the basic process of precipitation and nucleation of bile components and growth of accumulation. It is believed that the main reason is that the composition and physicochemical properties of bile have changed, resulting in supersaturation of bile bile solids and easy precipitation and crystallization of stones; other reasons are abnormal nucleation of cholesterol in bile and abnormal gallbladder function. When people fast in the morning, the bile in the gallbladder is stored for about 12 hours overnight, making the cholesterol in the bile more saturated. In the case of normal breakfast, the cholesterol is discharged with the bile due to the contraction of the gallbladder, while the food stimulates the bile secretion, causing the cholesterol saturation in the remaining bile in the gallbladder to decrease, which makes the formation of stones less likely. If you don’t eat breakfast, due to the long fasting time, the bile in the gallbladder is stored for too long, which leads to the supersaturation of cholesterol in the bile, which in turn causes cholesterol deposition and gradually forms stones. Gallbladder stones are easily combined with acute cholecystitis, and prolonged stimulation of the gallbladder mucosa may even induce gallbladder cancer.
