Annoying civilization disease – cholecystitis and gallbladder stones

In recent years, with the change of social environment, economic culture and lifestyle, especially the improvement of living standard, the change of diet structure, such as: diet westernization, fast food, barbecue, high fat, high calorie and high cholesterol diet, etc., more and more people are troubled by cholecystitis, gallstone disease – this civilization disease, affecting normal life, work and study. Indeed, the incidence of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis in China is increasing year by year. In general, most cases of cholecystitis are closely related to cholelithiasis, and the two are like twin brothers, often coexisting at the same time. Let’s get to know this annoying civilization disease – cholecystitis and gallbladder stones. Cholecystitis refers to acute and chronic inflammation of the gallbladder, often combined with gallbladder stones and bile duct stones. Acute cholecystitis is an acute purulent inflammation of the gallbladder with obvious clinical signs and symptoms: fever, pain and pressure in the right upper abdomen with nausea and vomiting, constant pain at the beginning, gradually increasing to unbearable, pain often involving the right back and shoulder, the patient often sitting and lying down, bending and rolling, cold sweat, and in severe cases, pancreatitis. If the stone is embedded and loosens and slips out, the pain can be relieved or disappeared immediately. Blood tests may show elevated white blood cells and neutrophils, and ultrasound may show thickened gallbladder wall, edema or enlarged gallbladder and gallbladder stones. Chronic cholecystitis is a chronic and prolonged inflammation of the gallbladder with a history of recurrent episodes, clinically chronic in most patients. The onset of symptoms is mild and the pain is not severe, only the right upper abdomen or epigastric (near the fossa of the heart) distension or a feeling of stuffiness, accompanied by belching, acid reflux, nausea, abdominal distension, etc., often mistaken for “stomach disease”, many patients are treated as “stomach disease” for a long time, with poor results. Many patients have been treated as “stomach disease” for a long time with poor results. The blood leukocytes and neutrophils are normal, and the ultrasound shows that the gallbladder wall is rough, thickened and less smooth, or the gallbladder cavity is narrowed, the gallbladder is atrophied and the gallbladder has stones. Cholelithiasis refers to stones in the bile duct and gallbladder and the resulting acute and chronic cholecystitis. According to statistics, more than 70% of gallbladder infections have gallstone disease. According to the location of the stones, they can be broadly divided into gallbladder stones, hepatobiliary stones (including intrahepatic bile duct stones) and common bile duct stones. The clinical symptoms are the same as those of acute and chronic cholecystitis. It should be noted that with the improvement of diagnosis, especially the common application of physical examination and ultrasound, the number of patients with asymptomatic (static stones) biliary stones has increased. There are many causes of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis, mainly related to bile depression, biliary tract infections, cholesterol metabolism disorders and parasites. So how do they develop? The gallbladder is shaped like a pear, attached to the central part of the inner surface of the liver, and is an organ that stores and concentrates bile. After people eat food, the gallbladder contracts through a nerve reflex, and bile flows through the bile duct into the duodenum to promote the digestion and absorption of fat. If the body is too obese, or eats high-fat food for a long time, or has metabolic disorders, neuroendocrine regulation disorders, etc., the gallbladder will not be able to contract normally, and the bile will not flow out easily and be retained in the gallbladder. Cholecystitis and cholelithiasis mostly occur in middle-aged people, especially in obese and pre- and post-menopausal women. With the change of lifestyle, as well as the increase of work pressure and study burden, especially the change of diet structure, the incidence of the population is gradually expanding, and the age is low. Due to long-term high-fat fried diet, full meals, cold and cold drinking, obesity, mental factors, etc., can lead to different degrees of neural regulation and metabolic disorders, affecting the normal contraction and diastole of the gallbladder, so that the bile excretion is not smooth, and menopausal women, because of endocrine changes, but also often affect the secretion and regulation of bile and induced cholecystitis, gallstone disease. Of course, many chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hyperlipidemia, chronic liver disease, liver cirrhosis and other abnormal lipid metabolism, are also a high incidence of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis. For the treatment of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis, a three-pronged approach of medication, diet and spiritual conditioning is needed: 1. For stones embedded in the neck of the gallbladder, bile ducts and gallbladder atrophy, loss of function, etc., surgical treatment is required, and chronic cholecystitis can be treated with Chinese herbal medicine. 2, dietary prohibitions: the usual diet is generally advisable to eat a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet, avoid fried, spicy (wine), barbecue, high-fat (fatty meat, etc.) diet, can prevent a large amount of bile secretion and gallbladder contraction caused by acute attacks of chronic cholecystitis, but also to prevent the formation of high cholesterol stones; moderate amount of high-protein diet can strengthen the body, promote repair, and can prevent bile pigment stones. Eat more vegetables and grains and cereals and other high-fiber diet to promote intestinal peristalsis, to keep the bowel movement, Chinese medicine said “six internal organs to pass as smooth”; diet should be reasonable, to eat well in the morning, lunch with meat and vegetables, eat less in the evening, remember not to save breakfast. In addition, we need to drink more water (1500-2000ml) to dilute the bile. 3, mental conditioning: cholecystitis, gallstone disease seems to be a local lesion, but in fact it is a local lesion in the overall state. According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, liver and gallbladder are each other, and the function of gallbladder has to be completed through the draining function of liver. If the mood is not good, the draining of liver will be dysregulated, which will also affect the contraction and excretion of gallbladder and cannot digest fatty food well, which will lead to the occurrence of biliary diseases in time. Therefore, it is very important to regulate the emotions, keep the mood relaxed, and avoid irritability and anxiety. Finally, we remind you that when you have gallbladder stones, it is very difficult to hope that the drugs will break the stones and remove them, so it is important to prevent the problem before it happens, and not to wait until it is too late.
