Does hypothyroidism cause yellowing of the palms of the hands?

Hypothyroidism, or hypothyroidism, may cause yellowing of the palms of the hands. Patients with hypothyroidism will have a reduced ability to convert beta-carotene into vitamin A. This will increase the level of beta-carotene in the blood serum, and when the concentration reaches a certain value it will cause yellowing of the palms of the hands.
