Patients with hyperlipidaemia do not usually experience yellowing of the palms of their hands. If the symptoms of yellowing of the palms of the hands occur frequently, it means that the concentration of blood lipids is too high affecting the function of the liver and gallbladder, resulting in the metabolic capacity being affected and as a result the solubility of carotenoids in the blood increases, thus causing the yellowing of the skin in the palm area.
