Liver and biliary diseases such as cirrhosis, hepatitis and hyperlipidaemia can cause abnormal liver function and yellow palms. If the yellow palms are caused by diseases such as diabetes, hypothyroidism or nephrotic syndrome, they do not necessarily have abnormal liver function.
