What is the test for yellow palms?

If yellowing of the palms occurs, the first thing to look out for is to rule out jaundice caused by liver problems. Patients are advised to first visit a gastroenterologist or hepatobiliary surgeon to have blood drawn for liver function, blood tests and other basic tests.
You should take care to fast before checking liver function, avoid strenuous activities and rest for about 20 minutes at the hospital before drawing blood for the test. If liver disease is suspected, further tests such as abdominal ultrasound, abdominal CT, cholangiography, laparoscopy or liver aspiration biopsy may be performed.
