Characteristics of adolescent sexual psychology

At present, there are hundreds of millions of adolescents of both sexes in China who are in adolescence, and their psychosexual development is generally normal and healthy. Most of them can better regulate the sexual desire and impulse, show the speech and behavior in line with the social norms, and can correctly treat gender interaction. However, some adolescents also have a lot of problems in some aspects, and some of them are even very serious. Sex, as a physical, psychological and social phenomenon, always accompanies every person and profoundly affects the health, happiness and integrity of every person’s personality. It can give people both joy and pain. It can lead people to a noble realm, but also can tempt people to go astray and deep pool. For adolescents in adolescence, it is the period of maturity of sexual physiology, sexual psychology gradually mature, their sexual physiological maturity and sexual psychology is not fully mature contradiction and sexual physiological needs and sexual social norms between the conflict constitutes a series of problems in the mental health of adolescent men and women. If these problems are handled well, their academic performance will improve, work will be smooth, thinking will progress, life will be happy; otherwise, it will directly affect their physical and mental health and career development. However, in our country for a long time, “sex” has been a very sensitive and taboo issue, can be said to “talk about sex”, the problem of sexual maladjustment is also more complex, hidden, its impact is also more profound and lasting. Therefore, now we study and research this issue, also becomes more urgent and important. We should face the reality, break the “sex” this forbidden area, recognize that sex physiology, sex psychology are science, especially to teach adolescents of both sexes about sexual health, so that they use scientific knowledge to protect their health, promote normal development, and guide adolescents through adolescence smoothly. For this reason, we must get out of sexual ignorance, break the sexual circle, and provide comprehensive sex education to adolescents to achieve sexual health. Take sexual health education in adolescence as an indispensable and important part of the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, improve the quality of the whole nation through a healthy and scientific way of life, and achieve the nation’s own health, family health and social health. Adolescence is a period of life when people are full of energy, have a wide range of interests, are full of fantasies about life and have a strong competitive spirit and creativity, so it is called the “golden period”. At the same time, it is also a time of significant physical and mental change and maturity, and the onset of puberty marks the beginning of sexual maturity. But this period can also be troublesome. Because adolescents lack life knowledge and social experience, they are prone to anxiety, confusion and anxiety in front of a series of problems such as further education, employment or love. Therefore, this stage is a very special and important critical period in the growth and development of life. In psychology, we call the period when a person grows up with the emergence of secondary sexual characteristics as the starting point and obvious features, and when significant physical and psychological changes occur, as puberty. The age of onset of puberty varies somewhat between men and women, with women generally being 1-2 years earlier than men. The exact age of onset of puberty also varies from person to person depending on sexual maturity, environment and living conditions. In the case of China, it is generally believed that the onset of puberty is around 12 to 14 years old for females and 13 to 15 years old for males. Sexual maturation is completed around the age of 18. Some scholars believe that puberty should be from about 12 to 25 years old. With the development of society and the progress of science and technology, there is a tendency to advance the age of puberty. The arrival of puberty is the beginning of sexual maturity. At this time, the endocrine glands of the body strengthen their activities, and the gonadotropins produced by the pituitary gland open the door to gonadal activity, making the quiet reproductive organs develop vigorously, causing a series of physical and mental changes in adolescent men and women. The most prominent of these are the development of secondary sexual characteristics (also called paraphilias) leading to morphologically different gender characteristics in both sexes, changes in sexual organs and the gradual maturation of their sexual functions. The psychologist Hall called puberty a “stormy” period. He pointed out that the arrival of adolescence, the physical and mental development of adolescents is not the same as before, and the trend of development is jumping, that is, high and low, therefore, he called adolescence “dangerous period”. Second, the stages of psychosexual development in adolescence A person’s physiological changes are the basis for psychological changes, and the development of their sexual physiology is bound to bring about the development of sexual awareness. In terms of adolescence, it is generally believed that from the germination of sexual consciousness to the emergence and development of love, can be divided into three stages: (a) the period of alienation from the opposite sex. This period is from about the fifth or sixth grade to the first or second grade of junior high school. At this time, due to the budding of youth, the obvious differences that appear in the physiology of men and women, making them feel strange and uneasy, and because they lack knowledge of the sexes, so in front of the opposite sex, there is a shyness or fear, thus temporarily alienating male and female classmates. In kindergarten and lower elementary school, boys and girls are uninhibited from each other, and they are young and innocent. After entering upper elementary and first grade, the situation changes significantly. First, the female students enter a growth spurt, and their bodies often quickly surpass those of their male counterparts. Many boys who are obviously the same age fall short like a little brother. The boys were a little surprised and embarrassed by the girls’ growth, and they were a little envious and helpless. So the boys’ alienation from the girls is often intertwined with self-esteem and low self-esteem. The female students were carefree and probably did not appreciate the embarrassment of the male students at all. Two years later, the male students entered the growth spurt, like a spring shoot, two jumps and three scurries to grow into a tall boy, and then the girls should look up in surprise. And also find male students become a little “that”. At this time when the boys and girls are alone together, he (she) have a laugh, and play and play, but when the boys and girls individual contact, it is like a new person, I do not know is really shy fake gentle, or fake cold really nervous, there is a “see each other not know” strange feeling. This is the special performance of the alienation period of the opposite sex. This “estrangement”, the reason is very subtle. The specific performance of each of their own developmental changes for a while difficult to bear, there are boys initially inferiority complex, there are girls’ wariness, and some individual development early and late and physical defects and other phenomena caused by the obstacles to interpersonal communication between the opposite sex. Heterosexual alienation is a temporary phenomenon, but also a normal phenomenon. As adolescents understand and adapt to their own and the opposite sex’s physiology and psychology, the barriers to interaction between them will gradually be eliminated. (B) heterosexual approach period. After the second year of junior high school, the teenage years of male and female students are over and begin to embark on the journey of early youth. At this time, the first love, men and women have a need to like to approach, he (she) their psychosexual development and began to enter an important stage of mutual attraction between men and women. In this new period, male and female students are willing to study, work and activities together, willing to go on spring trips together or participate in sports and cultural activities, if only the same sex in the activities together, do not come to emotions; there are men and women, only then the emotions multiplied, full of energy. In the upper grades of middle school, male and female students just begin to have a good feeling for each other. By the high school level, he (she) want to try to overcome the uneasiness and shyness in the relationship, and further try to take the initiative to approach each other. But because the emotions are more hidden, rarely can reach mutual to the depth of emotional communication, this period of heterosexual interaction is generally still relatively broad, even without a definite purpose, the object being approached is also easy to change. Because young people at this time are in their infancy, most of the mutual attraction and affection between men and women still belong to the natural expression of the hazy feelings between the opposite sex. He or she is still in a state of puzzlement about the relationship between the sexes, and can’t tell the difference between a crush and first love, which often causes psychological confusion and distress. This is a longer period when their feelings are strong and easily out of control, close to extensive but not exclusive. Parents and teachers of young men and women in this period, education to guide him (her) to focus on learning, the correct distinction between friendship and love, in the interaction with the opposite sex to be positive and measured, enthusiastic and cautious, to avoid early love. (C) the period of love between the sexes. The distinctive sign of the love period is that love is concentrated on one person of the opposite sex, the concern for other people of the opposite sex is obviously reduced, and they like to spend time alone with the object of their choice and are not willing to participate in collective sexual activities, and are often caught in the fantasy of marriage. This stage generally starts in the middle and later stages of early youth, and is a relatively mature stage in the expression and development of sexual consciousness in adolescence, which is also the inevitable result of the development of sexual consciousness in adolescence, based on the development from the heterosexual contact period, but is essentially different from the heterosexual contact period. Only from this stage is it possible to gradually produce and form true love.
