What to eat for gout

The low purine diet is a dietary principle that gout patients should strictly adhere to, where the purine content of food gout patients can eat, but should avoid high purine diet into. With the improvement of material living standards, the prevalence of gout in China is increasing year by year, and a high purine diet has become one of the main causes of gout. Many young and middle-aged male gout patients have a long-term high purine diet. For gout patients, all foods with high purine content should be avoided, such as seafood, animal offal, beans, mushrooms, thick meat soup, beer, white wine and yellow wine. Most vegetables, fruits, dairy products, rice and noodles have low purine content and are suitable for daily consumption. However, since gout patients are prone to combine chronic diseases such as fatty liver and diabetes, their daily diet should be adjusted according to their weight, blood lipids and blood sugar level in addition to the low purine principle. For example, for patients with gout combined with diabetes, in addition to a low purine diet, the intake of staple foods such as rice and noodles should not be too much; and for patients with gout combined with hyperlipidemia, in addition to a low purine diet, the intake of lipid foods should not be too much. Therefore, a low purine diet is the dietary principle that gout patients should adhere to, and at the same time, they should drink more water, keep their bowels and stools open, and adjust their diet according to their own conditions.
