What is the pain in the right sternum?

The patient’s right sternum pain is commonly caused by the following reasons: First, right rib trauma: such as fracture and misalignment, the patient will show severe pain in the right side of the chest, accompanied by swelling, restricted thoracic movement and difficulty in breathing. Taking X-ray or 3D CT can confirm the existence of fracture, and early reset and fixation can reduce the pain symptoms. Second, senile osteoporosis: it may also lead to painful symptoms in the right side of the rib cage, weakened bone strength, and osteoporotic fracture may occur after being subjected to slight external force, leading to further aggravation of painful symptoms, which can be confirmed by bone density examination and X-ray. Therefore, the pain on the right side of the chest should be treated as early as possible in order to relieve the clinical symptoms, otherwise the pain will persist, which will affect the patient’s breathing movement and prevent him/her from living and working normally or participating in strenuous sports.
