Can Gallbladder Stones Be Discharged Naturally?

Gallbladder stones basically cannot be drained from the gallbladder by natural means. Previously, prior treatment by lithotripsy, or litholytic drugs, and later drainage from the gallbladder, but not the mainstream treatment. The gallbladder is a pouch-shaped structure, and the positive stones found by ultrasound are usually >3mm, while the diameter of the cystic duct is 2-5mm, and it is in a spastic state, only when the bile is drained, and the diastole will not exceed 5mm, so it is difficult to pass a large stone at this time. With lithotripsy or laser lithotripsy, attempts can be made to expel the gallbladder stones, but the patient will have serious complications. For example, when the stone is discharged from the bile duct, it will reach the lower part of the bile duct and narrow the duodenal papilla, causing impaction and biliary pancreatitis, which will have serious consequences for the patient; or it will cause jaundice when it is stuck to the narrow place, causing changes in liver function and biliary obstruction pathology. Therefore, patients are not recommended to use lithotripsy, or laser lithotripsy followed by natural discharge of gallbladder stones to treat gallbladder stones.
