Daily diet for hepatitis B patients

Diet is very important for hepatitis B patients because what we drink and eat must be processed by the liver before it can be further metabolized. So the diet of hepatitis B patients need to pay attention to the following points: a. Avoid “wine”. Alcohol is a major taboo for patients with liver disease. After entering the digestive tract, about 90% of the alcohol has to be metabolized by the liver, which can easily cause damage to the liver. Second, diet diversification, do not be partial food. The liver is harmed by the wildly supplemented protein and calories. A healthy diet should take into account the various types of nutrition required by the body, including protein, essential fatty acids and carbohydrates. The main sources of protein are meat, such as chicken and fish, as well as eggs, dairy products, nuts, beans, etc. Third, it is advisable to eat more mild, fluffy, easily digestible food and keep it light, with vegetables, fruits, beans and fish as the mainstay. Among the vegetables, celery, cucumber, tomatoes and collard greens are preferred, and some fruit juices, such as lemon juice, pear juice, mango juice and watermelon juice, can also be consumed. In addition, whole grain foods are recommended, they are an important source of B vitamins and minerals such as zinc. Fourth, fat is not as useless as some people may realize, but it should not be more. Patients with liver disease should maintain their weight within the normal range and control their total intake of butter, cheese and other dairy products, edible oils, meat, nuts, desserts and other foods that are high in fat. Fifth, “sugar” do not consume too much. Patients with liver disease mostly have a loss of appetite and insufficient calories in the body, so they should eat sugar, but it is not advisable to eat too much. Too much sugar, sugar can be transformed into fat and accumulate in the body, over time will form a fatty liver; and some metabolic residues of sugar, such as pyruvate, lactic acid, will also increase the burden on the liver, and easily cause gastrointestinal distention. It is recommended that hepatitis C patients eat more fruit to supplement the lack of sugar. Sixth, drugs also have damage to the liver. Because the liver is the filter and detoxifier of drugs. Some prescription drugs, including proprietary Chinese medicines, can produce varying degrees of liver damage. Therefore, it is important to have the guidance of a medical professional as to what drugs should be used and what drugs should not be used. Take as few non-essential drugs as possible, so as not to lose more than you gain. Seven, do not eat “junk food”. The so-called “junk food” refers to those high fat, high sugar, low vitamin, high chemical additives food. These foods are harmful to health without a benefit, so the name “junk food”, such as burgers, fried chicken legs, etc..
