Ankylosing spondylitis – does not stop after age 40

In some patients, the disease is treated promptly and the disease is controlled without visible spinal deformation, and the functional status is well maintained, no different from normal. If the effective control drugs are stopped, some patients will still develop spinal deformation; some patients do not receive timely diagnosis and treatment due to family and local medical conditions, and patients with severe disease often develop spinal ankylosis and hip joint involvement within 3-5 years, and have difficulty in taking care of themselves. This is mainly due to deformation of the spine and peripheral joints. In addition, although the diagnosis is timely, the treatment is not effective and the disability remains, even after the age of 40, the disease is still gradually aggravated. In conclusion, it is important to provide the necessary treatment for spondylitis according to the condition. Do not wait and go to the hospital immediately.
