How is ankylosing spondylitis treated?

Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic progressive, independent, systemic immune disease. It mainly affects the sacroiliac, hip, intervertebral, and cribriform joints, and can be characterized by back, hip, and hip pain in the early stages, and ultimately by ankylosing spondylitis, a disabling condition. In Chinese medicine, ankylosing spondylitis is known as “tortoise back wind”, “bamboo joint wind”, “big hunchback disease”, “bone paralysis”. The disease of ankylosing spondylitis is known in Chinese medicine as “tortoise back wind”, “bamboo joint wind”, “big hunchback disease” and “bone paralysis”. The cause of ankylosing spondylitis is a deficiency of yang in the body, a deficiency of yin in the liver and kidneys, a loss of glory in the veins, and a coincidence of wind, cold, and dampness, which are the cause and effect of each other. The main manifestations of ankylosing spondylitis: The disease is most often seen in adolescent males, the onset of the disease is insidious, the early stage can be manifested as distal joint pain, and gradually develop into intermittent dull pain in the hip, hip, lower back, a feeling of stiffness or sciatica, the course of the disease extended for months or years, can suddenly appear persistent pain, or even more severe pain. Patients often have morning stiffness, and symptoms may worsen in cold and wet weather, as well as during exertion and colds. Some patients may also have unexplained iritis, generalized fatigue, anorexia, weight loss, and hypothermia. Ankylosing spondylitis is most severe when the spinal joints are involved, but it can also involve any joint in the body, resulting in arthritis. 1, sacroiliac arthritis: is the first symptom of involvement in most patients, mainly manifested as: leg pain, thigh root pain radiating to one or both sides of the hip, and occasionally radiating to the thigh. 2, lumbar arthritis: mostly manifested as the patient’s back pain and discomfort and motor dysfunction, examination of the lumbar osteoarthritic joints can have direct tenderness, paraspinal muscle spasm is obvious, lumbar spine straightening or bending, can not straighten can be complicated by lumbar spondylosis. 3 – Thoracic arthritis: mostly manifested as pain in the upper back of the patient, pain in the thoracic nerve, restricted movement of the thoracic expansion, and pain is obvious when inhaling. 4 – cervical arthritis: mostly manifested as the patient’s neck stiffness, can not look down to see things, visual field is limited, look at people even axis, etc., can be complicated by cervical spondylosis. 5. Peripheral arthritis: mostly manifested as frozen shoulder, hip arthritis and other manifestations. Patients can appear “duck walk” state, can be complicated by femoral head necrosis. These are the common clinical manifestations and signs of ankylosing spondylitis. The most powerful diagnostic aids are x-rays of the sacroiliac joint and two tests for HLA-B27. The following focuses on the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis. There is no effective therapy in Western medicine to stop the progression of this disease, and the best drugs are immune preparations, but the side effects are quite significant, especially the damage to the liver and kidneys; before the disease is treated, new diseases are added to the patient, which is undoubtedly adding insult to injury. According to my years of clinical experience, the current treatment of ankylosing spondylitis in Chinese medicine is effective in controlling the disease, relieving pain, reducing disability, and restoring joint function. For the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis in Chinese medicine, timely and active proper early treatment with obtaining close cooperation from the patient is essential for future stability, prevention and development of the disease and deformity. In Chinese medicine, ankylosing spondylitis is divided into three symptoms: 1) kidney deficiency and coldness in the spine, 2) deficiency in the liver and kidneys and loss of glory in the tendons and bones, and 3) heat in the spine. I treat different patients according to the three different symptoms, symptoms and manifestations of ankylosing spondylitis using Fu’s Chinese herbal blood exchange therapy. After one or two courses of treatment, the symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis are controlled, the pain is relieved, and the disease is significantly improved; after four or five courses of treatment, the patient can achieve clinical cure.
