Hemolysis is mainly caused by the incompatibility between mother and child blood types. ABO hemolysis is more common in clinical practice, while RH hemolysis is less common. RH hemolysis has more severe clinical symptoms than ABO hemolysis, and the disease progresses more rapidly and is more dangerous. The most common symptoms of neonatal hemolysis are jaundice, anemia, edema, and hepatosplenomegaly. The earliest symptom is jaundice. Blue light irradiation to reduce jaundice is needed along with intravenous application of gammaglobulin to block hemolysis, and if anemia is present, transfusion of washed red blood cells is needed.
