Multiple gallbladder stones are defined as ≥2 gallbladder stones, either multiple massive stones or multiple mud-like stones. For multiple gallbladder stones, they can be detected by imaging tests such as ultrasound and CT, which is an easy, effective, and painless way to detect gallbladder stones. Most patients are found to have multiple stones in the gallbladder during an ultrasound examination, and the ultrasound provides a detailed picture of the number, size and location of the stones. In addition, it is possible to observe the size of the gallbladder, the thickening of the gallbladder wall, and to detect the presence of chronic cholecystitis or acute cholecystitis. If multiple gallbladder stones are present, patients are advised to eat a light diet and avoid overeating and eating too much fatty food to avoid triggering acute cholecystitis. If acute cholecystitis is present, timely hospital treatment is required.
