What to do if glutamyl transpeptidase is high 200

The normal range of glutamyl transpeptidase is 0-40U/L, and above 60U/L indicates abnormality. If glutamyl transpeptidase is elevated to 200U/L, the cause of the disease should be clarified first, and then symptomatic treatment should be given for the cause. If the liver function is only elevated glutamyl transpeptidase, transaminase, albumin, bilirubin is not high, other indicators are not abnormal, consider the following causes: 1, long-term alcohol consumption of patients with alcoholic hepatitis, alcoholic liver damage, resulting in elevated indicators; 2, patients with chronic underlying diseases, long-term drug use, drug toxicity damage to the liver, will lead to elevated indicators; 3, fatty liver, obese patients, can also lead to elevated indicators. Patients with obesity will also lead to the elevation of indicators. If glutamyl transpeptidase is as high as 200U/L, it is recommended that patients should undergo liver function and ultrasound examinations in a timely manner. Based on the imaging results, we can further clarify the diagnosis of the above causes. In daily life, patients should develop good living habits, mainly including complete abstinence from alcohol and low cholesterol diet; weight control, reasonable exercise, strengthening exercise; temporary discontinuation of liver-protective drugs, etc. If the index continues to be elevated, other causes should also be analyzed and systematic examination should be conducted if necessary.
