Criteria for cure of chronic hepatitis B

There are three different concepts of cure criteria for chronic hepatitis B, including clinical improvement, basic cure and complete cure. Clinical improvement is for patients with hepatitis B in the onset state, and can be judged as clinical improvement when liver function is completely normalized after treatment; basic cure means that the main replication indicators of hepatitis B virus (hepatitis B e antigen and hepatitis B virus DNA) are tested negative and liver function is normal, and can last for more than one year; complete cure means that liver function is normal and all antigen indicators of hepatitis B virus are negative, and liver tissue examination does not show the presence of hepatitis B virus. The complete cure means that the liver function is normal and all antigenic indicators of hepatitis B virus are negative, and no hepatitis B virus is found in liver tissue examination. From the current situation, more than 70% of the patients can slow down the progress of the disease and obtain clinical improvement through active and correct treatment; 30%-40% of the patients can achieve basic cure; less than 5% of the patients can achieve complete cure.
