What is syphilis spirochete

Syphilis spirochetes are pathogens that cause syphilis and are named as such because of their spiral-like (i.e., screw) appearance. They are medically classified as dense spirochetes and include many subtypes, also known as pale spirochetes. Syphilis spirochetes have the following characteristics: 1. Traits: Spirochetes are very small, measured in microns (μm). Generally grown about 4-15μm, diameter of about 0.25μm. elongated and straight at both ends, dense and regular spiral, active movement; 2, characteristics: belong to the anaerobic microorganism, strong cold tolerance, leaving the body is not easy to survive, in high temperature, boiling, light, dry, soapy water, ordinary disinfectant environment will die quickly; 3, transmission channels: through the patient’s skin injury, blood, semen, milk, saliva. Contact transmission, vertical transmission or medical transmission by means of semen, breast milk, saliva, etc. It may also be transmitted by other special means, such as contact with the patient’s contaminated clothing, etc.; 4. Pathogenic principle: Because syphilis spirochetes contain many antigenic substances, they can induce T-cell immune responses in humans. The clinical course of syphilis and the type of damage depends mainly on the strength of a cellular immune response mediated by a reaction called delayed hypersensitivity, which can infect multiple organs or tissues throughout the body and can cause chronic systemic damage in severe cases. Therefore, it is important to raise awareness of syphilis spirochetes in daily life, to maintain good hygiene and to avoid high-risk sexual behavior.
