How can Internet addiction be solved?

About Internet Addiction If we put it in a non-definitive and common way, Internet addiction can be described as “devoting a lot of time, interest, and energy to the Internet”. The reason for the addiction is that the Internet is fun or relaxing. If the Internet can give us fun and relaxation, why is it a problem? Let’s look at a case: 14-year-old Xiao Qiang was originally an obedient teenager with very good academic performance. In order to support the family, his mother often left early and returned late. Xiao Qiang knew how to manage himself since he was young, he was more independent, and he knew how to be considerate of his mother, and he studied hard. But in the last year, Xiao Qiang has changed his temperament, does not like to study, skips classes, and fights with children. He often dozed off in class. Through observation, mom found that Xiao Qiang secretly plays games online every night. He did not go to bed until 3:00 am. His mother started to manage him, but the devil was always a little higher. Xiao Qiang was always able to get rid of his mother’s control. Later, the mother began to solve the problem by force, so that the mother did not expect, but Xiao Qiang actually returned the favor, and gradually Xiao Qiang more and more violent, as long as their own requirements are not met, fist and foot against the mother. In the end, the mother made herself too afraid to return home. There are many other cases like this. Through this case, we can look at it from a different perspective. The reason why Xiao Qiang likes the Internet becomes a problem is because what we think he should do is not done. If Xiao Qiang goes to school normally, his academic performance is also good, and he does not need to worry about his mother, he can manage himself. Is Internet access still a problem? Internet access is a problem because life is all about the Internet and nothing else. Where is the rest of the content? In Xiao Qiang’s own words, he is always being asked, criticized, educated, and reasoned with all day long. There is no one to care about himself. The more you reason, the more annoyed you get. The more annoyed, the more I want to hide in the world of the network. Only in the world of the Internet, you are free. You can do whatever you want. Do things the way you want. As you can see, the other content always makes it hard for us to let the Internet squeeze out! So, what should parents do if their children are addicted to the Internet? After many parents find out that their children are addicted to the Internet, they start taking coercive measures to try to get them to quit. This includes limiting the child’s pocket money, cutting off the internet connection, keeping the child at home, or even sending the child to a mandatory school for internet addiction. But few of them are successful. Even if they are successful, the child’s problems are not solved, and more serious behavioral problems and emotional disorders often arise. A child’s addiction to the Internet is really a headache for parents. In fact, before becoming addicted to the Internet, family conflicts and the various pressures that children face lay the foundation and pave the way for Internet addiction. So, to solve Internet addiction, we should not expect the problem to get miraculously better in the short term. Parents need to be patient. Here are a few ideas for parents to consider: First, we should not point the finger of blame at the child for the problem. Solve the problem by forcibly changing the child. Secondly, Internet addiction is the child’s self-help, a solution sought by the child to relieve the stress of life. Addiction to the Internet is a very concise way to get rid of our unpleasant experiences until there is no other better way. It is an act of last resort. We should respect our children’s approach. Third, being addicted to the Internet is not a problem in itself; the problem is that the child is only addicted to the Internet. So, what we need to address is not to eliminate the behavior of the child’s Internet addiction, but to develop some other behaviors. If there is warmth in the family, good relationships can be established with classmates, and learning is recognized and understood. Addiction or non-addiction to the Internet is not a problem.
