How to regulate spleen deficiency?

Spleen deficiency is a TCM concept. Specifically, the causes that can lead to spleen deficiency: for example, loose teeth, loss of teeth, loss of taste, smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract begin to atrophy, elasticity decreases, peristalsis slows down, food digestion in the gastrointestinal tract slows down and is easily retained; at the same time, the withered membrane on the surface of the gastrointestinal tract gradually becomes thinner, the digestive glands also gradually atrophy, the secretion of digestive juices decreases, and the decomposition ability of things decreases. Due to these physiological changes, the spleen and stomach of middle-aged and elderly people gradually weaken, and the digestive function decreases, thus causing all the above discomforts. In addition, some middle-aged and elderly people have been overworked when they were young or have not paid attention to diet, which has damaged the spleen and stomach over time and aggravated the weakness of the spleen and stomach. In Chinese medicine, spleen deficiency is also divided into spleen qi deficiency and spleen yang deficiency (cold symptoms on top of spleen qi deficiency). Spleen deficiency in TCM is a condition caused by the weakness of the spleen, and its manifestations are very complicated, mainly vomiting, diarrhea, edema, bleeding, etc. Since the spleen and stomach are the most important organs of the body for food transportation and the production of qi and blood, the spleen is the “essence of the latter day”. If the spleen is deficient, there will be no source of Qi and blood, and other organs will have corresponding symptoms. Spleen deficiency and vomiting: vomiting is easy when one is not careful with food and drink. Spleen deficiency vomiting is caused by weakness of the spleen and upward rebellion of the stomach Qi. Spleen deficiency diarrhea: Seeing loose stools at times and diarrhea at other times, delayed and repeated, no transformation of the finished grain, reduced diet, stuffy and uncomfortable after eating, increased frequency of stools when eating greasy food, with a yellowish complexion, fatigue, pale tongue with white fur and weak pulse. Spleen deficiency diarrhea is caused by deficiency of the spleen and dampness in the intestinal tract. The treatment is to strengthen the spleen and permeate dampness to stop diarrhea. Edema due to deficiency of spleen: the body is swollen, especially below the waist, and the sunkenness is not easily recovered when pressed, the abdomen is distended and stuffy, the food and appetite are reduced, the face is not flushed, the spirit is tired and the limbs are cold, the urine is short, the tongue is pale, the fur is white and smooth, and the pulse is sluggish. Spleen deficiency edema is caused by spleen deficiency and overflowing of water in the skin. Bleeding due to deficiency of spleen: See blood in stool with purple or even black color, or blood in urine, blood in vomiting, blood in epistaxis and purple spots, fatigue, short breath and low voice, white face and dizziness, pale tongue, thin white fur, thin and feeble pulse. Bleeding due to spleen deficiency is due to weakness of spleen qi and loss of blood control. The treatment is to strengthen the spleen, benefit the qi and regulate blood.
