Prevention of hydrocephalus from the source

Hydrocephalus is a common disease in infants and children, which can be caused by congenital factors or acquired diseases, and can affect the patient’s intelligence and walking. So how to prevent hydrocephalus? Experts remind us that the prevention of hydrocephalus should start at the source, strengthen prenatal diagnosis and promote eugenics, and strengthen education is very important. Prevention method one: strengthen prenatal early diagnosis and early termination of pregnancy to prevent the birth of children with hydrocephalus. Early prenatal diagnosis of children with hydrocephalus is an important way to prevent the birth of children with hydrocephalus. As obvious hydrocephalus can be detected by ultrasound at 12 – 18 weeks of pregnancy, it is important to strengthen the application of ultrasound in prenatal diagnosis, early termination of pregnancy to prevent the birth of children with hydrocephalus and reduce the birth rate of congenital hydrocephalus. Prevention method 2: Promote age-appropriate childbirth. The incidence of hydrocephalus malformations tends to increase with maternal age. The incidence of hydrocephalus is generally lowest in the 25-29 age group, but the difference is not significant, and the incidence tends to increase after the age of 30. Therefore, it is important to promote age-appropriate childbirth to prevent the occurrence of hydrocephalus children. Prevention method 3: Promote eugenic knowledge and reduce the number of births. The risk of hydrocephalus in the fetus can be increased by the number of births. The incidence of hydrocephalus increases significantly in those with more than two pregnancies. Therefore, promoting knowledge of eugenics and reducing the number of births is one of the ways to prevent hydrocephalus. Prevention method four: strengthen eugenics education, improve the cultural quality of the population. The incidence of hydrocephalus is related to the literacy of pregnant women, the lower the literacy of pregnant women the higher the incidence, and the illiterate and semi-literate people have the highest incidence of offspring. Therefore, to improve the health quality of the population, we should first improve the cultural quality of the population, in order to enhance the public’s ability to accept eugenics education and self-care awareness. Prevention method 5: Safe delivery, prevent asphyxia and birth injury. When a pregnant woman gives birth, she must give birth in a hospital with good environmental conditions, do not delay the delivery process, prevent perinatal asphyxia, and prevent birth injuries. This is an important part of preventing the occurrence of perinatal hydrocephalus children. As you can see, prevention of hydrocephalus is very important for the health of patients, especially it is very important to do prenatal education.
