Causes of chronic dysmenorrhea

There are several causes of chronic dysmenorrhea: first, due to the shedding of the endometrium, which produces a large amount of prostaglandins that stimulate the uterus to contract and cause pain in the lower abdomen. Second, due to certain diseases, endometriosis can cause progressively worse dysmenorrhea, which often leads to infertility in clinical practice. Pelvic inflammatory disease can also lead to dysmenorrhea. If the uterus is malformed, it can cause uncoordinated uterine contractions at the time of menstruation, which can lead to pain in the lower abdomen. Patients with chronic dysmenorrhea must have a detailed examination to find the cause of dysmenorrhea, and clinically targeted medication or treatment will relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea.
