Acromegaly, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a common type of motor neuron disease and it is impossible to distinguish between the lesser and the greater. Motor neuron disease is a series of chronic progressive neurodegenerative disorders highlighted by damage to upper and lower motor neurons. There are four types depending on the location of the affected neurons: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, progressive medullary palsy, progressive muscular dystrophy, and primary lateral sclerosis. Of these, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, manifests as muscle weakness, muscle atrophy, and pyramidal sign. Patients usually take one side or both sides of the finger movement clumsiness, weakness as the first symptom, followed by the atrophy of the small muscles of the hand, gradually to the trunk cadre, the affected parts of the muscle atrophy, weakness, accompanied by obvious muscle bundles of tremors, the whole body is stiff and weak, as if frozen, so it is known as tachyphylaxis. Therefore, acromegaly belongs to motor neuron disease, and its prognosis is poor, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital in time, and actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment.
