How to exercise for motor neuron disease

Exercise methods for motor neuron disease include joint activity training, resistance muscle training, fine motor training, respiratory training, aerobic training and so on.
1. Joint activity training: active or passive activities in all directions such as flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, rotation of upper limbs, lower limbs and trunk to avoid joint contracture and deformation.
2. Resistance muscle training: using bare hands or elastic bands and other tools to give resistance, respectively, upper limbs, lower limbs, trunk and other directions of resistance exercise to slow down the speed of muscle atrophy.
3. Fine-motor training: Perform fine-motor training such as finger movement, split-pea training and screwing to slow down muscle atrophy.
4. Respiratory training: Improve the patient’s respiratory function by blowing up balloons or using respiratory resistance equipment to train the muscle strength of expiratory and inspiratory muscles.
5. Aerobic training: Patients who are able to do so can do exercises such as power cycling and swimming to improve their cardiorespiratory function.
It is recommended that patients with motor neuron disease should seek medical treatment in time and under the professional guidance of doctors for scientific treatment, and should not train blindly on their own to avoid the adverse consequences.
