The difference between hepatitis B patients and hepatitis B virus carriers

Patients with hepatitis B are: HBsAg positive, elevated transaminases, inflammatory necrosis on liver puncture, or elevated bilirubin, with symptoms such as weakness, loss of appetite, and discomfort in the liver area. At present, China is divided into two types of carriers of chronic hepatitis B virus and inactive surface antigen carriers. Chronic hepatitis B virus carriers are: HBsAg detected in the blood, but no signs and symptoms of hepatitis, 3 consecutive follow-ups a year, serum glutamate transaminase are in the normal range, HBeAg positive or negative, HBVDNA positive. A part of them are not stable or even develop into cirrhosis, therefore, for this part of hepatitis B virus carriers, they should be actively mobilized to do liver histological examination and antiviral treatment if necessary. Inactive HBsAg carriers are those who have positive serum HBsAg, negative HBeAg, positive e antibody, negative HBV DNA or below the low limit of detection, and whose serum ALT is within the normal range for more than 3 consecutive follow-ups a year. This group of hepatitis B virus carriers generally does not require special treatment.  Keywords Hepatitis B patients, hepatitis B virus carriers, An Yong, Department of Hepatology, Shandong Qianfo Mountain Hospital
