Is glutamyl transpeptidase 80 serious?

The normal value of glutamyl transpeptidase is 0-40U/L, and higher than 60U/L indicates abnormality. The test result of 80U/L is a mild increase, which can be normalized by active treatment in general. Glutamyl transpeptidase is an important indicator of liver function test, which lies in hepatocyte plasma and intrahepatic bile duct epithelium in the liver. It is mainly used for transporting amino acids and glutathione into cells and has an influence on the metabolic effect of glutathione. It is widely present in all organs of human body, and the main source of serum is liver. When suffering from certain liver diseases, transpeptidase is released into blood from broken cells, leading to increased test results. The principle of treatment is to identify the primary cause of the disease and treat it symptomatically. The reason of high level may be related to viral hepatitis, alcoholic hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis and other liver diseases, mainly caused by long-term alcohol abuse, overwork and other factors, usually no big problem. It is recommended to abstain from alcohol, eat less greasy, fried, high-fat and high-sugar food in daily life, have balanced nutrition, and exercise properly, and if the indexes drop after a period of time, there is no need for medication. If the index continues to rise, other causes should also be analyzed and, if necessary, a systematic examination should be conducted in a hospital.
