A few points about biliary atresia

  1. Biliary atresia and infantile hepatitis are manifestations of the same disease at different times and are mutually dependent.  2.Most of them occur in full-term infants.  3.Jaundice appears 2~3 weeks after birth or physiological jaundice does not subside and continues to worsen.  4, high total bilirubin, direct bilirubin accounted for more than 50% of the total bilirubin.  5.The color of stool becomes lighter or even white, and the urine is tea-colored.  6.Gallbladder ultrasound can make preliminary diagnosis: gallbladder less than 15mm, pre- and post-meal gallbladder contraction ratio less than 50%, and sometimes fibrous tissue mass can be identified.  7.Laparoscopic cholecystography is the only method to confirm the diagnosis.  8.Kasai surgery can prolong the life of the child.  9.Liver transplantation is the best method to treat biliary atresia.
