The dangers of precocious puberty

  1. In children with idiopathic (true, central) precocious puberty, the most important hazard is that the short growth period may result in a shorter adult height. Due to premature onset of puberty, premature acceleration of physical growth, early epiphyseal fusion, shortening of the growth period, and early cessation of growth. This results in a lower final adult height than that of children of the same age who develop according to normal puberty. Take girls as an example: normal girls grow about 20-25CM throughout puberty, normal girls start to develop when their height reaches or approaches 140CM around 10, and their adult height may reach or approach 160-165CM. 2.Premature sexual maturity Although children’s sexual characteristics are developed in advance, but the level of psychological and intellectual development is still the actual age level, premature appearance of sexual characteristics and development of reproductive organs will lead to immature children’s psychological disorders, early menarche of girls, but also bring a lot of inconvenience to life, serious cases even affect reading and learning. 3, premature sexual maturity, and the lack of self-protection, may also be more vulnerable to injury, Mexico has been reported by the mother of 5 years old. 4, some precocious sexual maturity is due to the appearance of tumors in the body, these tumors can secrete substances similar to sex hormones, and sometimes when the tumor is still small, the amount of sex hormones it secretes is already large enough to cause sexual development, so children with precocious sexual maturity must see a doctor in time for early diagnosis and treatment. 5. It has been reported that the increased incidence of tumors in estrogen-sensitive target organs, such as breast, endometrium and ovary, in children with precocious puberty may be related to the high sensitivity of individuals to estrogen. Is early menarche in girls likely to lead to a slightly earlier menopause in the future? In both boys and girls, if they mature too early in childhood, is there a possibility of premature aging in adulthood? These are all issues worth considering. 6, in recent years, there are some domestic and foreign research studies suggest that early sexual maturity may also cause some other effects. Such as the tendency to violence, truancy, decline in academic performance, juvenile or adult crime rate, adult work achievement, adult family stability, etc., and normal development of children may have some differences.
