Dysmenorrhea is more common in unmarried young women and female students. Dysmenorrhea in adolescence is mostly functional or called primary dysmenorrhea. It has been observed that more than 90% of primary dysmenorrhea is related to psychosomatic factors. Mental stress, overwork, and changes in living environment are the main triggers. In addition, the position of the uterus is too flexed, the flow of menstrual blood is not smooth, rain, cold or cold drinks, etc., can cause dysmenorrhea. Most of these dysmenorrhea will gradually reduce or heal by themselves after a little adjustment or with age. However, some dysmenorrhea is secondary to certain gynecological organic diseases, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, etc., which must be taken seriously and the cause should be clarified and treated early. Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease with dysmenorrhea and infertility as the main symptoms. It is mostly seen in women aged 30-45, but it is not uncommon in young patients before the age of 20, especially in female athletes and ballet dancers. The incidence of infertility is reported to be more than 30% in patients with endometriosis, and 1/3 or nearly half of women with unexplained infertility have endometriosis, and the chance of infertility is 20 times higher in such patients than in those without endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition in which the endometrial tissue leaves the normal cavity of the uterus and appears to grow and develop in any other part of the body. The causes are complex, such as abortion, induction of labor, post-operative cervical stenosis or atresia, or posterior tilt and curvature of the uterus, which can obstruct the outflow of menstrual blood and cause endometrial fragments to flow backwards with menstrual blood and be planted in various parts of the pelvis through the fallopian tubes. This can lead to dysmenorrhea and infertility. Therefore, abortion and induction of labor should be avoided or minimized, and post-uterine degeneration should be corrected immediately to prevent and reduce its occurrence. In addition, adolescent girls should take proper rest during menstruation and avoid strenuous exercise, which can also prevent the occurrence of endometriosis.
