Depression is treatable, but the following points need to be noted

  Depression is a common mood disorder, characterized by significant and persistent depression and even suicidal thoughts and behaviors in severe cases.  Can depression be cured? The answer is yes. But the greatest trouble with this disorder is the recurrence, which is a distinctive feature that distinguishes psychological disorders from conventional disorders. Depression is very prone to relapse, with at least 50% of patients who experience a single episode having one or more relapses, and at least 80% of those who experience two relapses having another. On average, a person who has suffered from depression may face 4-8 relapses in his or her lifetime.  Most people who relapse realize that it is like having a cold or fever, it can be cured, but it is inevitable that they will experience it several times in their lifetime. During these times, learn how to adjust yourself so that depression does not affect your life too badly.  How to treat depression Active treatment: Antidepressants are effective. What works here is not that the medication can make a depressed person happy, but that it can relieve the symptoms and keep the mood from staying at rock bottom so that there is energy to gradually return to a normal life. The medication will have more or less side effects, but the side effects usually disappear gradually after the body gets used to it. As for when to stop the medication, you need to discuss with your doctor and never stop it on your own. It is very important to take your medication and see your psychiatrist regularly.  Relaxed mindset: “Can depression really be cured?” The thought of “I can only live a normal life if I get better from depression” is one of the causes of depression. Their subconscious thought is “I can only work and study and live if I am well”, but for a depressed person, it is likely that they will live in a state between “getting well” and “curing” for a long time. In this state, you should learn to live with depression, in fact, you don’t have to be well to work and study, you can also work and live with depression.  Do what you want to do: Try all kinds of new things that you find interesting, travel, photography, climbing, running, etc. Go around more, so that your memory is not full of the gray mood of the onset, but there are more beautiful things to do instead. Any time you feel exhausted, go find something to do, force yourself into it, and you will be much better. When you find yourself making progress, you’re already getting better.  Engage with others: For people who are depressed, the last thing they want to do is be alone and afraid to see people. Force yourself to engage with others. Start with the people and ways that you are most comfortable with. If you are afraid to meet people face to face, try phone calls or text messages. Go make friends who are not in your social circle.  Look outward: Another problem for people with depression is excessive self-focus. This is usually accompanied by a lack of self-confidence and putting too much weight on what others think of them! The more they focus on themselves, the more anxious they become, the more they feel they are finished, magnifying many negative emotions. It would be a sign of improvement if the eyes could shift from themselves to explore the outside world, pay more attention to others and care more about the surrounding.
